Scraps and unfinished business

Hi everyone!

Today I sat down at my messy craft desk and decided I better clean it up as it looks atrocious! I've got scraps of paper and have finished " just playing" projects laying all over. See?

I just can't seem to tidy up after getting a card made......the phone rings or I have to make dinner or something else always seems to drag me away.  Maybe I'm just plain old lazy!!




So I was determined to get it picked up and finish off some half done projects. Here is an atc I made a month or so ago using Hero Arts stamps.....and I used some paper scraps to finish it off. It's a little mini card measuring about 3x4 inches.




I had a fall panel stamped and waiting to go (it's probably been sitting here for quite a while....can't really remember) so I added a sentiment and some brown floss.....a few buttons and called it done!



 It feels good to get a little bit accomplished this morning, now I just have to get the rest of it organized and hopefully cleaned up. Wish me luck as I will probably procrastinate some more- in fact the darn phone is ringing right now again-ughhh!!

Stamping with paint

Hello everyone! I'm here with a fun painted card project today:)

This is a card I made for 2 specific challenges: The Penny Black blog to use the colors red, cream, and gold....and also the Inspiration Journal challenge to use acrylic paint on a project.



I used the Penny Black stamp "butterfly ball" and stamped that using my Adirondack gold paint dabber. I also used the paint on the 2 small brads......they were metallic gold to begin with but I wanted them to match the butterflies exactly. The script stamp is by Hero Arts and was stamped using brushed corduroy distress ink and the embossed red panel is by Stampin Up. I like the way the paint has a little bit of dimension here giving the butterflies some texture.

I really had fun playing with the paint. My dabber was clogged up so I simply put some of the paint onto my non-stick craft sheet and used a small paint brush to layer it on the stamp. A little tearing and distressing around the edges of the paper and that's it. I left the front blank so you can add any sentiment you want on the inside.

I decided to get out some patterned paper for a change and whip up a set of quick thank you cards today.

I used this paper (Sultry) by Basic Grey that I have been hoarding for quite some time.

These are all mini cards......so quick and easy to make.  I die cut some butterflies, stamped the sentiment,  and added some pearls and that was about it! So FAST!!



 The sentiment is by Stampin Up and so is the butterfly die. I love it when a project comes together so quickly and easily!! :)

Cleaning out the craft room!

Hello everyone!

I have come to the conclusion that I have way too many stamps and craft items and it's time to scale back. I don't seem to have the time I used to for making cards and crafting so I'm going to sell some items and get my craft room cleaned up and in order.

I have posted pictures over in my photostream at Flicker of all the items I will have up for sale- right now it's mostly new or almost new stamps at some really great prices. Feel free to take a peek and make me an offer if you like.

CAS......what am I thinking?

Hi everyone!!

Today I thought I would try to do a Clean & Simple card for a change- specifically for the current Wee Memories challenge.

Now for me CAS is a real challenge........it's just not my thing. But I wanted to see what I could do even though CAS kinds of cards scare the cr*p out of me!! I just find it a bit terrifying to have all that white space out there- does anyone else feel the same way?

                  Here is what I came up with.........I gave it a shot!! 



I tried to keep it very simple (only a few stamps and a few colors of ink) and for me it is just hard to have all that white space there- eeek! I'm not sure if it's really awful or not.................someone please let me know what you think will ya? Because if its really BAD I 'll take the hint and stay away from CAS in the future.

The sentiment is from Studio G and the stamps are a combination of TAC and unknown manufacturers. The embossing folder is from Stampin Up.
