Scrapfest fun with pictures

I went to Scrapfest this past Saturday and met up with many friends and had a wonderful time! I got to meet 2 gals for the first time  from the Hero Arts Flicker group, Trinh and Robin and got to see Anita again too.  And of course I met up with my local peeps Barb and Linda- it's always great to see them. I also ran into Jenn B. early in the day but she had to scoot and get home and I forgot to get a picture of her...darn it!

Barb and I did a couple of make and takes but honestly the lines were incredibly long this year so unfortunately we passed up some that we really wanted to do. So we went a did a bit of shopping at Archivers instead!! Ya have to shop at Scrapfest- right? We actually went 2 times....gotta use those coupons!

                                        




    I picked up these 2 Hero Arts stamp sets!Love those new matching dies on the Christmas set- going to have lots of fun playing with them.

A bunch of fun little goodies from Doodlebug and and finally got myself a Sew Easy and a few new distress satins. Stay tuned as I have some other goodies that I'll be giving away here at the end of the week!

All of us Hero Arts Flicker girls met up with Shari and Jennifer at the end of the day and had a lovely dinner at the Twin City Grill. Here I am with Shari after dinner.  She is so nice and told us lots of funny stories!

                                   We all swapped friend themed cards after dinner as well- that was so fun!

We all did the 2 Hero Arts stamping classes and they were a blast. We made 3 cards in each class and of course learned many new inking techniques- Jennifer and Shari always have the best ideas! Here is a picture of one of the cards we made. I LOVE the main image stamp here- so cute. My inking didn't turn out the best so I added the big felt snowflake to cover up my boo boo.



Scrapfest was a blast again this year!!  A great day to get together and meet new and old friends and of course shop and see all the new products out there! I"ll be going again next year.....maybe I'll meet you there!

Just a Halloween card using all Hero Arts stamps.



Hero Arts stamps used:
S5215: Clouds
CL468: Frightful
CM004 Stamp it: Halloween (ghost)
F5270: Traditional pumpkin
G5269: Tall pumpkin
Assorted gray cardstock

I have had this cloud background stamp for a long time and never used it.....so today I inked it up for the first time! I stamped the pumpkins on patterned paper and did a bit of shading and coloring. Stamped and cut out the little ghost and stamped the tree and sentiment. I used pumice stone distress ink for the sky and Versafine black for everything else.



I came across these cute little gnomes someone made over on Flicker and want to buy some of these................aren't they just ADORABLE!!

I love- love- love Halloween if you don't already know that about me....... so you will probably see many more Halloween cards/projects to come in the next few weeks. Thanks for stopping bye today!!

Another Fall card

Just a quick simple card for fall using a Penny Black stamp and a Verve stamp.



I just picked up this tiny leaf punch at Micheal's the other day and thought it would work well with the PB tree stamp. I used assorted scraps of patterned paper and cardstock for the leaves. The tree was stamped with brushed corduroy and the sentiment was stamped with Adirondack cranberry.

The weather today is glorious- not a cloud in the sky and in the 70's. I'm headed out for a walk in a bit!

Fall is around the corner

Hi everyone!

The temps are getting cooler each day and it feels like fall is in the air here in Wisconsin. I've been seeing Halloween and fall cards all over blogland and I've been getting the itch to create for the upcoming season. I created this card using some  felt leaves from Hero Arts I picked up last fall and still had a bunch left over.



I stamped the woodgrain background using Stazon Timber Brown as the cardstock has a metallic sheen to it and all other inks would just slide right off. I used an EK Sucess border punch and some yummy Stampin Up ribbon. The sentiment is from Hero Arts as well. I can't believe I made a rather "clean and simple" card.......that's a stretch for me!
I'm entering this into the Hero Arts monthly challenge for September "everything autumn".


I even made a quick "kid"  Halloween card with some pre-made embellies and Hero Arts stamps.



And another Halloween card using a Penny Black image and Hero Arts background stamp. The fun sentiment is from Rubbernecker Stamps. Sorry abut the poor picture quality- my lighting was terrible that day I took the picture.

I'm looking forward to all the leaves turning colors in my yard, roasting marshmallows around the campfire, hot cocoa, comfy sweaters, and picking apples at the local orchard soon. It's hard to say goodbye to summer.....but this past one has been so darn hot I'm welcoming the cooler fall weather. I even got out some of my fall decorations today and baked up some pumpkin zucchini bread- loving this time of year!!  I"ll be updating my blog header real soon.....must change it up with something cute for fall.

Scraps and unfinished business

Hi everyone!

Today I sat down at my messy craft desk and decided I better clean it up as it looks atrocious! I've got scraps of paper and have finished " just playing" projects laying all over. See?

I just can't seem to tidy up after getting a card made......the phone rings or I have to make dinner or something else always seems to drag me away.  Maybe I'm just plain old lazy!!




So I was determined to get it picked up and finish off some half done projects. Here is an atc I made a month or so ago using Hero Arts stamps.....and I used some paper scraps to finish it off. It's a little mini card measuring about 3x4 inches.




I had a fall panel stamped and waiting to go (it's probably been sitting here for quite a while....can't really remember) so I added a sentiment and some brown floss.....a few buttons and called it done!



 It feels good to get a little bit accomplished this morning, now I just have to get the rest of it organized and hopefully cleaned up. Wish me luck as I will probably procrastinate some more- in fact the darn phone is ringing right now again-ughhh!!
